HOW ACQUIRED: Selected by Guelph in the 2nd round of the 2011 OHL Priority Selection

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS: Selected by the Dallas Stars in the 1st round (29th overall) at the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.  Started slow in OHL rookie season in 2011-12 but finished with 35 points (13 goals, 22 assists) in 63 games. Earned a nod to the 2012 OHL All-Rookie second team. Won Academic Player of the Month representing the Midwest Division in January 2012. Awarded Guelph's Paul Fendley Memorial Scholastic Player of the Year in 2012-13, while finishing fifth in Storm scoring (47 points) and second in plus-minus (plus-19). Finished third in 2012-13 OHL Western Conference Coaches Poll in voting for Best Defensive Forward. Represented Canada at the 2013 IIHF U18 Ice Hockey Championship in April 2013 in Sochi, Russia. Scored the winning goal in overtime in Game One of the OHL Championship. In August 2014, he attended Hockey Canada's National Junior Team Development Camp in Montreal. Was named the captain of the Guelph Storm for the 2014-15 season.
