A long time NHL forward with the Vancouver Canucks, Nashville Predators, Carolina Hurricanes, and Washington Capitals, Scott Walker was hired as the Storm’s Head Coach on December 23, 2010 guiding the team to a 19-13-0-2 record after his debut.
The Cambridge, Ontario native began his junior career with the Kitchener Dutchmen of the OHA Junior-B League in 1989-90. He then starred in Junior-A for two seasons with the then-Owen Sound Platers where he scored 91 points in 57 games during the 1992-93 season as a defenceman. Walker was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in 1993 who he played with until he was picked up by the newly-formed Nashville Predators Hockey Club in the 1998 NHL Expansion Draft. He spent the majority of his 829-game NHL career in the Music City. In his final four seasons, Scott made stops in Carolina and Washington before finally hanging up the skates for good in December of 2010. Scott Walker compiled 379 points over the course of 829 games.
The versatile winger played internationally for Team Canada at three separate World Championships, recording 11 points in 26 career games.
A first time Head Coach, Walker leans on his experience playing under coaches such as Mike Keenan, Barry Trotz, Peter Laviolette and Paul Maurice in developing his coaching philosophies.
Scott, his wife Julie, and their two kids reside in Cambridge.
