Russ has been with the Storm for 17 seasons. Prior to joining the Storm organization, he spent 12 seasons with the Guelph Platers and Guelph's Jr. B franchise as the Head Trainer. Russ holds his Level 3 Trainer Certificate from the Hockey Development Centre of Ontario.
Russ was the Equipment Manager for Team Canada at the 2004 World Junior Championship in Finland where he won a Silver Medal.
In 2002, as a member of the training staff for Canada's Under-18 team that won a Gold Medal at the World Under-18 Hockey Championship in the Czech Republic.
On September 28th, 2007, Russ reached a milestone with the Storm - working his 1,000th game behind the Guelph bench.
Russ lives in Guelph with his wife.
