In what was one of its worst efforts of the season, the Guelph Storm fell 6-3 on home ice to the Ottawa 67’s, a team that came into Guelph with the worst record in the Ontario Hockey League.
“It was embarrassing. It was an embarrassing loss and it just continued to spiral out of control,” Storm coach Jason Brooks said.
“Our best player tonight was Connor Tresham (pictured). No disrespect to Connor Tresham, but when your fourth line centre is your best player, you’re in trouble.”
After jumping out to a 1-0 lead on Matt Kennedy’s shorthanded goal 2:25 into the game, Guelph watched Ottawa score five unanswered goals, two in the first period and three in the second.
The Storm, a team that seems to take one step forward then one step back on a weekly basis, looked disoriented and disinterested for the most part, coughing up pucks time and time again in the neutral zone.
