GuelphStorm.com goes inside the Storm for the weeky 'Storm Tracks'.

Latta goals... On Friday night, Michael Latta (pictured) made his return to the Storm lineup after four plus weeks on the shelf with a shoulder injury suffered in Erie.  The third-year forward showed some rust in the early going missing a golden opportunity to tie the game at 1 in the first period from in tight.  Playing alongside Cody McNaughton and JP Labardo for much of the game, the threesome were arguably the Storm's most effective unit creating turnovers in the Otters zone with a high pressure forecheck.  In the third period, Latta picked up his 8th goal of the season to cut the Erie lead to 4-3.  Last season, it took Latta 29 games to score his 9th goal of the season.  The Nashville Predators' 3rd round pick in 2009 has 8 goals and 8 assists in 15 games this year.

Short on shots ... In Friday night's overtime loss the Storm outshot the Otters 43-35.  The advantage in shots on goal in the game, marked the first time since October 15th in Peterborough that Guelph has been on the plus side in shots.  During the 16 game stretch, the Storm was collectively outshot 644-459 (average of 40.25-28.69) and owned a win-loss record of 6-10.

Point about points... The Storm's 14th ranked offence (3.12 goals per game) boasts four players that are averaging a point per game or better led by Taylor Beck's 1.58 points per game.  Beck's per game production ranks fifth in the OHL with Saginaw's Jordan Skellett leading the way with an average of 1.77 points.

Kennedy's campaign ... Captain Matt Kennedy has played in only 13 of 25 Storm games this season due to injury.  The Carolina Hurricanes' pick notched the winning goal for Guelph in 3 of the club's 6 wins with him in the lineup and is tied for 7th in the OHL in game winners (3) despite his injury woes.  Kennedy's 0.77 goals per game ranks fifth in the OHL behind only Adam Henrique, Tyler Seguin, Jeremy Morin and Taylor Hall.

Road test coming... The Storm's 10 road games are the lowest total in the league through November 27th.  Between January 28th and March 3rd, the Storm play 17 games including 12 road contests and only 5 games at the Sleeman Centre.  Guelph's record away from home this season is 4-6-0-0.  At the Christmas break, the Storm will have played 35 games including 20 at home and 15 on the road.
