SCOREBOARD WATCHING... The Storm will rest on Saturday night to prepare for Sunday afternoon's visit by the Kitchener Rangers, while doing some scoreboard watching as the Erie Otters travel to Owen Sound to square off against the Attack in a match up with major playoff implications for Guelph.

With a magic number of just two, the Storm can punch their ticket to the OHL playoffs for the 18th straight season if the Attack fails to win on Saturday night.  With one eye on the Attack in their rearview mirror, Guelph also has their sights set on Owen Sound's opponent as well.  The seventh place Otters currently lead the Storm by three points in the Western Conference standings with what could be a critical meeting between Erie and Guelph at the Sleeman Centre on Friday, March 12th.

Another game to watch on Saturday night is in Michigan as the fourth place Plymouth Whalers host the Saginaw Spirit, who currently own sixth in the conference.  The Spirit sits just four points in front of Guelph with each club having four games to play.

TERRIFIC TRIO... How good have the threesome of Michael Latta, Peter Holland and Taylor Beck been in 2010?  There's little question that the production of the three along with the steady play of Brandon Foote have helped spark the Storm's resurgence since the turn of the calendar.  Each drafted in the first three rounds of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, big things were expected of Holland, Latta and Beck this season.  While Beck has easily been the Storm's most consistent scorer this season and ranks fifth in the OHL with 87 points, Holland and Latta have been brilliant since January after slow starts.  Holland leads the club in scoring since January 1st with 47 (20/27) points in 28 games, while Latta has added 42 points (22/20) in 28 contests.  Despite missing five games with a knee injury since the New Year, Beck sits third in scoring over the stretch with 35 points (18/17) in 23 games.  Combined the trio have averaged an impressive 4.7 points per game.

SISCA SURGE... With 24 goals combined in his first two OHL seasons, Mathew Sisca's 32 goals this season might surprise a few in the league that haven't followed the Storm closely in 2009/10.  Since starting the campaign with just seven goals in the first 25 games, Sisca has 25 markers in 39 contests - a streak that includes a seven-game streak in January where the third year forward failed to light the lamp.

EASY MATH... Want to know the Storm's record in their last 25 games?  All you have to do is look at Brandon Foote's season stats.  Since returning to Guelph after off-season hip surgery, Foote has started every game for the Storm... a streak that includes 25 straight starts.  The second-year netminder has a 16-8-1-0 record (0.660 winning percentage) over the stretch with a 3.21 goals against average and 0.910 save percentage.

'FOUR-MULA' FOR A WIN... In the past 25 games since Foote's return from injury the Storm has scored four or more goals 16 times and won 15 of those games.  The only exception to the 'four-mula' was Foote's first appearance way back on January 8th in Saginaw when Guelph dropped a 5-4 decision.  The current win streak when the Storm notches four or more is fifteen in a row.
