The Guelph Storm kind of ruined the party at Tullio Arena Saturday night.
It was Teddy Bear Toss Night for the 4,000 Erie Otter fans in attendance, but things didn’t quite go as planned.
After Brock McGinn (pictured) scored to make it 5-0 Guelph midway through the second period, the Erie not-so faithful had had enough. Down came the bears out of the stands by the thousands, an event that is supposed to happen when the home side scores its first goal.
The Storm would go on to a thoroughly convincing 8-0 victory.
Garret Sparks made 23 saves for his fourth shutout of the season, Justin Auger had a goal and four assists and Tanner Richard had four assists in what was once again a balanced Storm attack.
