Guelph Storm General Manager and Head Coach Jason Brooks announced that the club has acquired winger JR Marsden from the Plymouth Whalers in exchange for financial considerations.
The Exeter native is in his third full OHL season. Marsden was originally selected by the Kingston Frontenacs in the 7th round of the 2006 OHL Priority Selection. Last season with the Frontenacs, Marsden had 8 goals and 5 assists for 13 points along with 80 penalty minutes.
Marsden missed several weeks earlier this season after having surgery for a dislocated elbow. Last season with Kingston, the winger missed extended time with a knee injury.
In 144 career regular season games, Marsden has 13 goals and 12 assists for 25 points.
