For the second game in a row, the Storm dropped a 4-3 decision versus the Knights in their Western Conference Quarterfinal Series, but the two games had much different storylines.

Unlike Friday's see-saw affair that went back and forth, the Knights grabbed a lead and never surrendered it in Sunday's contest.  In a tight opening twenty, London opened the scoring with only 42 seconds remaining on a Jared Knight rebound goal.  The 1-0 lead was big, but the momentum changer happened 38 seconds later when a pair of Storm players were whistled for minor penalties at 19:57.

When the puck dropped to start the middle stanza, London had a two-man advantage and capitalized netting one on the powerplay and another just one second after the Storm returned to even strength.  Nazem Kadri doubled the visitors' lead to 2-0 with a shot from the high slot through traffic that Foote couldn't handle.  An instant after Adam Comrie returned to the ice, Daniel Erlich's shot bounced in the blue paint before a Guelph defender inadvertently pushed it past the goal line to make it 3-0. After failing to capitalize on a five minute powerplay, Guelph would finally hit the scoresheet on the rush at 15:02 when Adam Comrie skated hard to turn a two-on-two into a three-on-two and lifted his first of the post-season over Michael Hutchinson.  After almost a minute of end to end chances odd-man rushes late in the second, Tyler Brown cashed in a three-on-one to restore the Knights' three goal cushion heading into the second break.

The third period turned out to be the best one for the hosts energizing the raucous crowd at the Sleeman Centre.  Rookie Zack Mitchell started the comeback attempt with a shot that handcuffed the London goalie and flipped into the net.  Down a pair with under four minutes to play, the Storm went to the powerplay and scored for the first time in the series.  Standing all alone on the doorstep Beck finished a pretty three-way passing play with Matt Sisca and Michael Latta to pull Guelph within one for the first time since early in the third.  The Storm would have their chances late but couldn't manage the equalizer.

'Round One Rush' returns to the Sleeman Centre on Thurday night when the Knights come to Guelph for a 7 pm start.  Tickets with Round One Rush are only $10 for all regular price lower bowl tickets.  The Storm box office is open from 10 am - 5 pm on Monday - Wednesday for in-person or phone orders at (519) 837-9690.  Click here to purchase online.
