STORM FANS SCORE FOR THE FOOD BANK DURING ROGERS NIGHT AT THE SLEEMAN CENTRE.
February 25, 2009 (GUELPH) Guelph Storm fans will turn their old cell phones into food when the Guelph Storm host the Saginaw Spirit during Rogers Night on Friday, March 6 at the Sleeman Centre.
Each fan who participates will be eligible to win a $2500 Rogers Entertainment Package featuring a 32" LCD Hi-Def TV and one year of Rogers Digital Cable services. Fans can also donate cash or non-perishable food items.
Rogers Phones for Food alleviates hunger and diverts waste from landfill sites. 100% percent of the proceeds raised through the process of recycling used wireless devices are given to the Canadian Association of Food Banks (CAFB) who operates the program and administers the funds to each local food bank. One wireless device, depending on its age and condition, can generate an average of $2 to $5 which is equivalent to one carton of milk, a jar of peanut butter or even a whole meal to someone in need.
Rogers Night with the Guelph Storm, hosted by Rogers TV and partners Rogers Wireless, Rogers Cable and Rogers Plus, will feature several onsite activities and big giveaways. There are over $5,000 worth of prizes to be won including a Bluetooth/universal case combo with gift certificates towards selected Blackberries, $100 Rogers Video Night at the Movies Gift Pack, and much more. Plus, with each Storm goal, Rogers TV will award a lucky fan with a $100 Rogers Gift Card.
The game will be televised on Smith Valeriote's OHL Prime Time beginning LIVE at 7:30 pm on Rogers TV, Cable 20. Viewers at home can also get involved with the chance to win a $100 Rogers Gift Card by reporting the name of each Storm goal scorer to www.rogerstv.com.
