By Tony Saxon, Guelph Mercury - The rosters are being finalized for the Guelph Storm’s first ever alumni game later this month.

Storm assistant coach Chris Hajt, who is heading efforts for the June 12 event, said an excellent turnout of former Storm players is expected.

“We should have four lines and six defenceman on each team. Guys are really looking forward to it,” Hajt said.

So far, organizers have sold 1,200 tickets.

“Guys are very excited. They’re calling me and are really looking forward to seeing old teammates and hanging out in the city. For a lot of them it’s a can’t-miss event,” Hajt said.

“Lots of families are coming back too. I had one player ask for 20 tickets. Their time in Guelph meant a lot to them and their parents.”

The odd player has had to drop out of the event, with Dan Girardi and Duane Harmer being the latest to send their regrets, but there will be plenty of star power on the ice, including National Hockey League players Drew Doughty, Dustin Brown, Ryan Callahan, Dan Paille and Todd Bertuzzi.
