AMJ Player of the Week

The Guelph Storm announced today that forward Cody McNaughton is the Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, September 25th.

McNaughton led the Storm in points this week recording three goals and two assists in three games. The Petawawa native helped the Storm pick up their first two points of the season on Thursday night in Windsor. Assisting on Menard’s goal in the first and addding one of his own, the Storm defeated the Spits 6-3. On Friday night, McNaughton shone in front of 4,441 fans in the home opener crowd. Named second star of the game, he scored twice and added an assist in the 6-4 loss to the Attack. Held off the scoresheet against the Knights on Sunday, the 19 year old played a spirited game throwing hits and blocking shots in the 2-1 shootout loss.

McNaughton currently leads the Storm in scoring with five points, including three power play markers.

Next up, the Storm host the Erie Otters on Friday night at the Sleeman Centre before heading to Owen Sound on Saturday for a 7:00pm start. Tickets are still available for Friday and can be purchased online or visiting or calling the Guelph Storm Box Office at 519-837-9690.
