The Niagara IceDogs rained on Robby Fabbri’s parade Saturday night.
The Guelph Storm rookie forward scored the first three goals of his OHL career, albeit in a 9-4 loss.
“It’s a big weight off my shoulders. Now I can relax and not hold the stick as tightly,” the 16-year-old Mississauga native said. “But it’s more important as a team game and I wish it could have come in a win.”
With his family in the stands at the ancient Gatorade Garden City Complex, Fabbri notched his first OHL goal at 3:19 of the first period when Scott Kosmachuk took the puck deep into Niagara territory and spotted the streaking Fabbri who had just come off the bench.
