The Guelph Gryphons will have four ex-Ontario Hockey League players in their lineup when they take to the ice for OUA men’s hockey league play this season.
Former Guelph Storm goaltender Cody St. Jacques (pictured), defenceman Ken Peroff from the Brampton Battalion and right wingers Shane Kinsella of Brampton and Andrew Merrett of the Ottawa 67’s skated with the Gryphs last week.
“Those are our four horsemen for the year,” Gryphon head coach Shawn Camp said.
“That’s the only ones confirmed right now, but with pro camps and everything going on, there’s always the possibility of adding someone at the 11th hour.”
St. Jacques played four seasons in the OHL split between the Storm and the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds. He posted an overall 31-54-6-4 record, with 3.72 goals-against average and .890 save percentage.
Peroff also played four seasons in the OHL, all with Brampton. The 6-foot, 191-pound defenceman had 15 goals, 60 assists and 150 penalty minutes in 240 games.
