Not only did they down the Erie Otters 4-1 in Erie, but shortly after that tidy victory found out the London Knights had scored late in the game to down the Owen Sound Attack 4-3.
That leaves Guelph three points up on Owen Sound for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference. Guelph has five games remaining in the regular season, Owen Sound three.
As if that wasn’t enough, Jason Brooks also made his return to the Storm bench after missing 21 games following back surgery.
“It was a nice, nice win. Especially at this time of year with everything that’s going on in the standings,” Brooks said over the phone on the way back from Pennsylvania.
“It wasn’t a very pretty win, but we found a way.”
Brooks admitted to doing a little scoreboard watching as well.
“You try not to be scoreboard watching, but at the end of the day you’re peeking at the end of the game to see what’s happening in the other games,” he said.
