By Tony Saxon, Guelph Mercury - Taylor Beck hopes to be in the lineup Friday when the Guelph Storm hosts the Peterborough Petes.

With their playoff lives flashing before their collective eyes, the team is desperate to have its leading scorer back in the lineup as it engages in another three-in-three weekend.

Guelph plays Peterborough Friday night then hits the road for games in Plymouth Saturday and Saginaw Sunday afternoon.

“It’s definitely getting better each day. There’s more and more movement so I think I should be a go for Friday,” Beck said Wednesday.

Wednesday was the first time the 18-year-old winger has been on the ice since trying to play Feb. 15 against London. After practice he said the knee felt just fine.

Beck injured his left knee Feb. 10 in a game against Plymouth, colliding awkwardly with Whalers’ blueliner Boone Jenner before slamming into the end boards. Jenner was called for interference on the play.
