The Guelph Storm wrapped up their 2009-10 season on Sunday afternoon at the Delta Hotel as they handed out their year-end awards. Leading point getter Taylor Beck (pictured with Head Coach / GM Jason Brooks) was named Most Valuable Player.
Four different players earned multiple awards on the evening with Taylor Beck leading all recipients with four. The fourth-year forward capped off a terrific season that saw him increase his point totals from 58 to 93 by earning the Top Scorer Award, the Tony Camilleri "Playmaker Trophy', the Fan Club Fan Favourite Award and the MVP.
Other multiple award winners included Tyler Carroll (Mike Kelly- Humanitarian Award, Most Improved), Zack Mitchell (ivan Tennant Memorial Award Nominee, Paul Fendley Memorial Student Achievement Award), and Peter Holland (Fay Scott Memorial Award - Academics and Community, the Biltmore Hat ‘Hattrick Award" shared with co-winners Michael Latta and Matt Sisca) all with two.
Other members of the 2009-10 Storm that were honoured at the event were Adam Comrie (Defenceman of the Year), Corey Syvret (Leadership Award) and Carter Sandlak (Wellington Motors Rookie of the Year). First round selection Matthew Finn was also on hand and received the Lou Embro Memorial Award presented annually to the club's first round selection, while long time Storm Scout Cliff Long was recognized for his commitment to the organization with the Wayne Smith Memorial Award.
